Application Fee Details
UPSSSC has kept a nominal application fee to encourage maximum participation. Irrespective of category, every candidate needs to pay only 25/- towards mains examination fee. Age Limit Requirements
Applicant must be a minimum of 18 years and maximum of 40 years as on 1 July 2024. Age is computed from the high-school certificate issued by a recognized board. Those born before 2 July 1984 or after 1 July 2006 are not eligible irrespective of other qualifications.

Candidates must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board and should possess a valid UPSSSC PET 2023 score card. Additionally, Hindi typing speed of 25 wpm and English typing speed of 30 wpm on computer is essential, which will be tested during the skill test round.

Vacancy Details
A total of 3284 Junior Assistant posts are being filled through Advt 12/2024. General category gets the largest share of 1291 seats while OBC has 827, EWS 269, SC 693 and ST 72 seats. The commission issued two corrigenda increasing the original count from 2702 to 3166 and later to 3284, giving extra hope to many aspirants.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The mains exam on 1 February 2026 will be conducted in offline OMR mode carrying 120 multiple-choice questions of 1 mark each. Duration is 2 hours with negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. Questions will be divided into Hindi & English knowledge, general intelligence, computer basics and General Studies related to Uttar Pradesh.
Qualifying the written test is mandatory for the typing skill test scheduled later. Skill test is qualifying in nature but errors exceeding 5% will lead to disqualification irrespective of written marks. Pay Scale
Selected Junior Assistants will be placed in Level-3 of UP 7th Pay Commission matrix, which tranates to a starting salary of 21,700/- per month plus Dearness Allowance, HRA, and other admissible allowances as per Uttar Pradesh government rules. Gross emoluments at joining will be approximately 30,000 per month depending on place of posting.

Selection Procedure
Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit secured in Written Exam (120 marks) followed by a typing skill test. PET 2023 score is used only for shortlisting to mains; it does not count in final merit. Only marks obtained in mains exam plus reservation weightage (if any) will determine the selection list.
Candidates equal to three times the number of vacancies will be called for typing test. Final merit is prepared from mains marks only provided the candidate qualifies the typing test within the prescribed 5% error limit.
